Living in central Scotland, there are lots of outdoor activities only an hour away and not many people take advantage. To be honest, I am one of those people. Understandable though, being Scotland: it rains, it’s freezing and of course there are the midges. Why would I give up my Saturday or even my entire weekend to do something I will instantly regret?
Would you rather an ice cold beer or ice cold hands? …
Still with me?
Being active in cold weather is like watching “Flash Gordon” - it doesn’t make sense. On the surface, the film is terrible. Ten minutes into the movie, Gordon is beating up 15 bad guys using his NFL quarterback skills. I challenge anyone to argue against Mig in this film: at the start of the movie Flash turns up, starts throwing a giant green egg around and wrecks a nice evening. Why wouldn’t Mig be mad !? But as the film goes on, you hear the Queen soundtrack and Brian Bleesed's "Gordon's Alive?", then you realise.... this is actually pretty good.
"I really wish I did this more".
Throughout this site you will find ideas for days out or weekends away, in locations that are mostly easy to access. To make it easier, you can filter your interests by activity on the tabs menu allowing you to find your next outing easier.
